The "OLD" is "NEW", again!
We've been offering our powder-painted, Purple-"Z-Jigs©"(aka: "Purple Hair-Jigs")
to our local customers, for over a decade. NOW, they're also available to our online customers.
These "Z-Jigs©" (aka: Purple Hair-Jigs) originally designed to be vertically-jigged, just for Walleye; have served that specific purpose, extremely well.
THEN, a few years ago; some of our Charter-Captain clients & Smallmouth-Bass anglers, asked if we could replace the faux-hair that we'd been using, with silicone-rubber skirts on their jigs.
What an idea!
Of course, before we could make them available to our customers; we had to field-test them, first!
WOW!!! What a totally remarkable difference those silicone-rubber skirts made!
It increased the profile of the jig, and added even more action & bouyancy to it (even at rest).
After tweaking the skirting sizes, style, and colors; I think we really found a winner!
NOW, I think I can honestly say that our "NEW" "Z-Jigs©" can be used to catch just about any species of game-fish that swims in fresh-water.
Both styles and all five sizes of our "Z-Jigs©", come complete with a removable &/or replaceable, 3"-long, hand-tied, #10 treble stinger-hook, already attached to the #2/0 or #4/0 main jig-hook.
Our "Z-Jigs©" are available in sizes; 3/8 oz., 1/2 oz., 5/8 oz., 3/4 oz., and 1 oz.
Both hooks, (on all four-sizes & both-styles of these jigs) are Mustad Ultra-Point hooks.
The 3/8 oz., 1/2 oz & 5/8 oz. sizes, are available in a heavy-wire O'Shaughnessey-Style, 2/0 hook.
The 5/8 oz., 3/4 oz., and 1 oz. sizes, are available in a heavy-wire O'Shaughnessey-Style, 4/0 hook.
Like most of our jigs; these too, are ready for you to tie on & fish ~ right out of the package.
Last season, our customers tipped our skirted "Z-Jigs©" with; minnows, leeches, and even Single-Tail Grubs or a pork spin-strip, attached to the main-hook.
Each different trailer-type used, adds an entirely different look & action to the jig. They caught lots of; Walleye, Small-Mouth Bass, Large-mouth Bass, and even brought in a Steelhead with one.
I've even seen one of our skirted "Z-Jigs©" used as a part of a "really different" kind of Bass-rig, than I've EVER seen used before, ANYWHERE. Who'd have thought that you could catch 3 Smallmouth Bass on one cast? How about 6 of them, in two casts?
You know; if I hadn't been there, and seen it happen with my own two eyes; I sure wouldn't have believed it! But, that's exactly what I saw happen with that weird-looking "Trick-Rig" (as he called it!)
Stop by the shop, and I'll show you what one looks like. You're welcomed use the idea for yourself!
